A combination of a painful welt and a visible butt-crack joke sees Wyatt and Gary having a falling out. They're content to never speak to each other ever again, but Lisa has other ideas – zapping them into The Sci-Fi Zone, a black-and-white TV series. Since the series saw them bond as third graders, she figures it will do so again. The duo go from one irony-laden twist after another, while bickering constantly. However, they will have to put their differences aside in order to survive their final stop in the Sci-Fi Zone.

Summary[]

SUMMARY

Guest Stars[]

  • Bruce Jarchow as Principal Scampi
  • Asher as Mutated Pig Lady
  • June Foray as voice of Baby Ruthie / Talking Tammy

Background Information[]

  • Obviously, this episode is a parody of The Twilight Zone, created by Rod Serling. Among the references are:
    • Chett serves as a Rod Serling-like host.
    • A pig woman considers Wyatt disfigured. ("The Eye of the Beholder")
    • The demonic fortune telling device. ("Nick of Time")
    • Lisa is dressed as a ballerina standing next to a clown, and they're all revealed to be a little girl's dolls. ("Five Characters in Search of an Exit")
    • A group of children playing kick-the-can. ("Kick the Can")
    • The Talking Tammy doll. ("Living Doll", in which June Foray also did the doll's voice)
  • Gary's reaction to seeing Liberty Donuts out-of-business is a reference to the original Planet of the Apes. Said movie was co-written by Rod Serling, so its inclusion in this episode is rather appropriate.
  • Though much of the episode is in black-and-white, USA Network promos showed those scenes in color.
